My career spans more than 25 years, with more than 20 years in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. I have a wealth of experience and an impressive track record of success across diverse industries and global settings, and have worked extensively across multinationals, private equity firms, banking institutions, investment management companies, real estate enterprises and government bodies, giving me a unique perspective and a well-rounded skill set.
My expertise encompasses senior executive roles such as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Investment Officer (CIO). I am currently the Chief Advisor to several private family offices in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) region, on matters pertaining to strategy, investments, governance, board matters, and operations, across myriad industries and geographies. Prior to this, I was the Regional COO for a multinational real estate consultancy firm, and prior to this, I was the Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice-President (Operations) for the University of Wollongong, managing a multi-billion-dollar balance sheet and P&L across 13 campuses in 5 countries (including the United Arab Emirates), with responsibility for shaping the overall financial and enterprise strategy of the university and its controlled entities.

I was also previously the Chief Investment Officer for one of the Dubai Government’s sovereign wealth funds. My exceptional leadership and insight enabled me to successfully implement an innovative and robust investment strategy with sustainability, superior returns, and diversification in mind, allowing for, amongst other things, long-term funding of endowments in the education sector and knowledge-based industries.

I have also served for over 25 years as a chartered non-executive director (Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of the GCC Board Directors Institute) globally across several industries, including financial services, property, technology, education, healthcare, investments, and trade. I have also been the chair and member of numerous board sub-committees, including the executive committee, audit, finance, risk, strategic technology, projects, treasury, compliance, governance, operations, investments, remuneration and nominations, cybersecurity, people and culture, workplace health and safety, and infrastructure.
