Value creation is the primary aim of any business entity. From a financial perspective, value is often looked at in terms of a return on investment. But today analysts are looking at a broader definition of "value creation" and suggesting that traditional methods of assessing organizational performance are no longer adequate in today's economy. Value creation in today's companies is increasingly represented in the intangible drivers like innovation, people, ideas, and brand. While many organisations are still focused on finance – making money for their shareholders and stakeholders, which is fine, the real question is how to achieve long term value, now and in the future. Increasingly stakeholders, including shareholders, want to know whether a company will still be able to perform well in 10 years’ time

The 7th GCC BDI Chairman Summit will examine how to create long term value, what are the sources and drivers of value creation and how should they be embedded in organizational strategy, how can we avoid the pitfalls of short termism; and how is this linked to increasing investor focus on sustainability and ESG (environmental, social and governance).
